Day 6, October 6, 2025 - 11 km. - Kim's Happy Birthday - Golinhac was an incredible experience. The house was so magnificent. Paul says " Off the charts, fantastic". Not sure we will be able to top this on the way.
As the team was walking the last 10 km I got the house set up and went to town to get something to make for supper. I decided to stop for lunch in the town. I asked if they had French fries .. he said "Certainly" then returned with the best Chicken Cesar salad I have ever had. LOL. Not really what I had intended but it was so good that I ate half of it then ordered one more to take back to the house for supper. The house was "off the charts" like a castle. It was a 9.9 for us - if it had a toilet on the main floor it would have been a 10 - funny though = the bedrooms had bidet's and a sink but not toilets in them - that was new for us.

This morning the walk started right from the front porch of the house. The day would begin with joining together and saying this little declaration together.

This we will remember well. With this I am well pleased.
One of our days in this region we drove to Conques, a really interesting village, but the streets quickly became too narrow for a car .. "Mirrors In" became a regular call.
a random journal entry - "John is for sure an excellent human". We all had only excellent things to say about John on this adventure - driving in the most bizarre little towns and Very narrow roads- making fantastic meals for us as well as getting lunches and snacks - finding us on the trail when we were ready to stop - bringing us lattes - encouraging us and cheering us onward. All of this while his knee was causing him serious pain.
