oct 21 - 22
Day 21, October 21, 2025 - We packed up again. John has always been a master van packer. We were trying to be ready to travel to our homes.
At 11 am we will drop of Kim and Paul, then we have until 3 pm to return the car about 1/2 hour a way. Little did we know that Lyon was still completely closed up with construction. After waiting 20 minutes where we were told to drop the car, we were told to bring it to a different location. After an hour of going in circles trying to get to our location we finally decided to go the wrong way on a one way street for a block, and we were there. We had the Turo owner drive us back to the train station. This was a very tense few hours - John nearly blew a gasket but he held it together as we drove from one construction site to the next.
On our nice, calm, train ride back to Paris we took the time to discuss future plans. It a glorious day, filled with miracle, signs and wonders.
We made it back you our hotel and then went out for a nice supper at the same restaurant as we had supper at for Pegs birthday .
6 am Peg John and Julie head for the airport. Peg to NYC and John and Julie to Montreal, the first stop on the long road home.
Total Driving - 2,300 km - Total walking - 180- 200 kms.
Planning the next Camino - Portugal, Italy, Spain, Croatia.
France was spectacular, over the top. Amazing!
A few months after our Camino, just a bit of my heart.
As I am looking through all of our Camino photos I just cant believe how we could be WOWED every day. We had such a fantastic Camino. You all were such extraordinary travel partners: always kind, always encouraging, always full of wonder, always filled with joy. I thank God for each of you and for our Camino together.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. Psalm 84: 5

Oct 20
Day 20, October 20, 2025 5 km. On the night of the 20th we arrived near the town of Saint-Etienne, staying in a home that is directly beside what looks like an old castle, Rochetaillee. Right to the very last day we were not disappointed.

It was nice to walk around Le Puy again, it felt good to walk around the town that we had started in.
This I will remember well - Peggy gathering us to pray together up in the ruins of this castle. We were all very aware that this amazing adventure was complete and we needed to transition our hearts and minds over to our other amazing adventures.
Supper that night was a quick trip to Burger king, then we got packed for the journey back to Lyon to catch a plane for Kim and Paul, then return the car and head back to the train station for our trip to Paris

Day 19, October 19, 2025. 5 km - A very long drive, up early and on the road, next stop is Brommat. The journey brings us back through the city of Figeac and a few stops along the way .
When we got to Brommat we had a couple hours to kill before checking in. There were several parked cars in this little town, and NO people. It was odd.
